WEESPRING GIVEAWAY: One $125 Gift Basket from Munchkin and One $100 Amazon Gift Card
It's almost midnight and instead of being finished with my post and drifting off to sleep, I have just spent the past two hours combing through every item on the new baby product comparison site WeeSpring, rating my favorites, bemoaning my regrets and adding to my wish list.
WeeSpring is like a modern day consumer reports, if consumer reports were only about baby products and all written by your real life friends. Melissa Post, the founder of WeeSpring, says she created the site after reading 27 conflicting carseat reviews from complete strangers on Amazon, when all she wanted to know was which carseat her friends used and recommended.
FYI- I'm very happy with my Britax.
This reminds me of the time I walked into a Buy Buy Baby at 5 months pregnant with my first, saw the fifty foot wall full of different bottle options, started having heart palpitations and had to leave before I passed out. Who was I to know which bottle was best when I'd never had a baby?
FYI- I have two babies now. We used the Medella bottles that come with the Pump 'n Style and moved on to Advent Naturals when they required something larger.
More important than rating your favorite and least favorite baby products, you can see what your friends liked and disliked, or which baby carrier has the most likes overall (Ergo) or the most regrets (Baby Bjorn).
FYI- Personally, I'm a big fan of the Lillebaby Organic.
I also found myself fascinated with what products got the most passionate responses. For instance, Sophie (with more loves, regrets and comments than any other baby toy) is, as always, a very controversial figure.
FYI- Mazzy would have thrown her Sophie in the river if it meant more time with the Whoozit. While Harlow could suck on that rubber giraffe ALL DAY LONG. She's also a fan of the easy-to-grab Oball.
Some products seem universally loved by WeeSpring parents with tons of likes and little to no regrets, like Aden & Anais swaddle blankets, the Nosefrida, and Aquaphor.
FYI- Use them, love it like a hobby and keep a tub in every bathroom in my house.
It's also interesting to see the regrets start to amass under products I had problems with as well.
FYI- The Crane Humidifier is incredibly cute but not the greatest when it comes to humidifying. After a year, we switched to a very uncute, very grown-up Air-O-Swiss.
If you'd like to see what else I love, regret, have and want, you can join WeeSpring and check out my profile.
If you've been following my blog for 2+ years and already know what I recommend and would like to get someone else's perspective for once, check out Anna's profile from My Life and Kids who is naming her favorite toddler toys today.
The two of us have gotten together to do a big WeeSpring giveaway with two big prizes.
One lucky reader will win a $125 baby gift basket full of everything you could ever possibly want from Munchkin.
FYI- We use Munchkin Sippy Cups, the Munchkin Snack Catcher and the Munchkin Bottle Brush.
And one other reader will win a not-too-shabby $100 Amazon gift card to buy whatever baby products (or any products) they damn please.
FYI- I'd put my $100 towards the Hushamok Organic Hammock and check to see if it came in an adult-size too.
Anna convinced me to use Rafflecopter for this giveaway. She uses it and loves it and I'm friends with Anna, so I'm giving it a shot. If you also love Rafflecopter or regret that I was ever introduced to Rafflecopter or feel totally indifferent about it, in the spirit of WeeSpring (and the power of grey skull!), please let me know in the comments.
Also in the comments, tell me your biggest baby product regret. Besides the humidifer, mine's a really expensive bassinet we used for three months with Mazzy, put in storage at my dad's place for the next child and then got thrown out by accident when he moved. (FYI, only total idiots store a disassembled bassinet in a garbage bag.)
Giveaway will end Sunday June 9th. You can come back each day to retweet for extra entries. Check back here to see the winner.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Katrina Lucas (winner of the Munchkin gift basket) and Tina Lacausi (winner of the Amazon gift card!

This post was sponsored by WeeSpring but they had no input on what products I chose to feature.
OOOOH! I would love to grab that Amazon card!
BTW, I regretted my baby Bjorn too. I swear I used it once.
I think my biggest regret would have to be my Moonstone Britax Stroller. I hated that thing. With a passion! I love the brand Britax though. But that stroller was the hardest thing to break down. If one piece was slightly out of place, it wouldn’t break down. I’ve driven with a fully opened stroller in my front seat twice.
Fun! I’d love the amazon card, or even the gift basket!
My biggest regret was our expensive bath tub (I don’t remember the brand). We ended up buying the $7 duckie tub from BRU & loved it all the way up until she could sit in the tub unassisted.
I also regretted my Medela hand pump. Next time I’ll just spring for the expensive double pump. Totally worth the money.
My biggest product regret goes a little something like this: I regret every minute I spent researching infant seats and not doing bicep curls while pregnant. I regret purchasing 2 seats and a swing, because the only place my child is happy is IN MY ARMS.
And she weighs 18lbs 11oz at 4 months.
My biggest UN-regret is the Boba 3G and Sakura Bloom ring sling. Biceps get a rest, laundry can get done, baby is happy.
WeeSpring is time sucker (in a good way!)! OMG I loved being able to say yeah or neah to all the crap! I will recommend to ALL my new momma friends!
I also regret the Puj tub. My relationship with that thing was like that hot boyfriend you would got to any lengths to make it work with. I TRIED. I had to accept the harsh reality that it wasn’t working for us when I noticed(through scent) the crusty milk build up not only behind her ears, but IN HER ARMPIT. That’s how unclean she was as I tried to rush her through baby baths in that strange little tub.
So many regrets, so little time.
First: I rented a “hospital grade pump” it was annoying, huge, expensive, and so loud. I ended up just buying the Medela Pump In Style and was way happier.
Second: I thought I needed the Bugaboo Frog, of course, you know, for the bassinet, as if my kid didn’t spend the first two months in her carseat on top of the snap and go? We ended up breaking it and sold it broken (with full disclosure) and got the Bugaboo Bee that we LOVED and still do. Although, we would’ve been just fine with the Maclaren umbrella stroller too.
Biggest Unregret are the BumGenius cloth diapers that we bought before Roozle was born (idiot move, but turned out fine) and used until she was 2.5 and then were able to sell.
Totally thought Bjorn was THE one to get. Turns out it’s rather hard to use and SO many people have the Ergo instead. I saw a salesperson demonstrating a Stokke and THAT looked easy to use! Or maybe it was Britax. Nevertheless, great site. I’d love to know what baby sling to buy since I’ve never had one. Oh, and the product I regret buying most is a Fisher Price “portable” high chair that straps to an adult chair. Used it half a dozen times. Really bulky. Should have just bought a cloth one.
My biggest regret are the swaddle me sacks. I know some people swear by them but my baby hated being swaddled by the time she was 3 weeks old. We literally never used them.
I regret the fisher price my little lamb swing. My kid loved it and slept well, like a baby in it. But the thing was GINORMOUS and so loud! Plus he would wake up if the annoying music stopped. We would have to run from wherever we were to turn it back on. But sure enough, getting ready to bust it out for kiddo #2. I swear I might take a baseball bat to it after we are done with it this time, lol.
My biggest regret with my current infant (3 months) would be the SwaddleMe’s I picked up before he was born. My daughter wouldn’t sleep without them, him, he won’t sleep with them. Should’ve listened to my mother and waited to see. Also, bottles. No cheap Gerber bottles for him, oh no, he needs the Advent Naturals or he refuses to eat.
With my daughter the biggest product regret I have would be the KidCo PeaPod. Love the idea. Do a lot of camping and thought it would be handy. I don’t know if we’ve even used it more than once. We’ll see how the second one likes it. :\
Avent Hand Pump- I swear it took two sessions to get 2 oz! Bought the Medela double electric and used it with 2 kids, no problem!
arm’s reach cosleeper. turned into a glorified changing table.
I regretted the baby bath. I got it of my registry and was so happy with it. I tried to love it, but never did. Since that was a relatively inexpensive mishap, I also really regret the very cute and adorable and way too expensive crib sheet set, complete with fluffy bumpers and adorable sumo wrestler quilt. I used it for baby changes in the car more than anything
And I totally want to hammock thing. I have been coveting it for four babies now, I am just so scared it would become my biggest regret
I love almost all carriers, slings, wraps. THEY ARE A GODSEND.
I’m not a fan of the Puj either. I didn’t like having the water from the faucet run directly on her. I kept getting scared the temperature would change by accident.
I sort of regret the pack and play. Nothing wrong with the product (Chicco) but it was expensive and we didn’t need it, we only used it once or twice in the first year. I should have waited till I needed it and done some research to find alternatives that might have suited me better.
I bought a noisemaking giraffe that hangs on my baby’s crib. I really just should have used a radio on static – it never turns off and is much less expensive. I’m not sure ‘white noise’ ever helped him sleep, anyway!
Regret buying a cheap battery operated Graco swing. That’s all my baby took naps in for the first 4 months of her life and I bet I spent $100 on batteries! Not to mention I had the tape the “conveniently collapsable legs” up so they wouldn’t slip while she was swinging. It still ticks me off. Thing I loved the most is the Rock N Play sleeper!
I regret our diaper pail. We got the arm & hammer pail and it is supposed to twist the bag every time you close the lid but ours always gets stuck so the top never shuts right.
Bjorn was an absolute waste. First child hated it. Then my second had hip dysplasia and her doctor told us that it is HORRIBLE on baby hips! Sold it and bought an ergo…MUCH better. Live and learn!
Regret buying a sling, one of those simple ones with fabric and a ring, that look so chic and easy to use. I just never got the hang of it, baby hates it and I just don’t feel save using it, I feel like I’m going to drop her or she’s gonna fall or something. Maybe I should’ve invested more time researching or just get one of those plain strappy ones that looks like a backpack. I might give it a try again but I just had too high expectations and it just didn’t work. Luckily, baby is not so carry-me-all-the-time-oriented, meaning she’s comfortable in a pack and play or swing or bouncer, so I can get things done around the house.
My biggest purchase regret is the 4moms Mommaroo. It is SO cool looking and was nice for the first few months. But for $200, buy a really nice swing. You don’t need to connect your ipod to a baby swing; the speakers suck anyhow.
The Puj tub was totally useless. Another huge regret… Born Free Glass bottles. What was I thinking? Still use the medela bottles all the time though.
Prince Lionhart Baby Tub Bucket – seemed like such a good idea…but it turns out you cant sit an infant in a bucket because their little heads will drown and by the time they can hold thier heads up they would rather kick kick kick in the tub…first time parent rookie mistake.
I also hated my “my breast friend” I NEVER used it – also gave that away without a second thought
I love rafflecopter, but I hate when it tells me to tweet things! I don’t use twitter…would it count if I used my husbands twitter? I should try it anyway, right? Just in case? This is my first baby and I am seriously overwhelmed with all of the things that I am “supposed” to get! and I HATE how everything is either pink or blue! At this point I may have to etsy all of my fabrics or enlist the grandmas to help!
That hammock looks amazing..do they come in adult sizes?
My biggest regret: Baby bedding with bumpers (never used).
Biggest non purchase regret – didn’t spring for a good breast pump and man oh man do I wish I had.
Un-regret: moby wrap, ergo. I had the only happy when with YOU baby. Also – best thing ever – noise machine without a shut off. We still use it every night. Also, blackout curtains.
Biggest baby regret: infant car seat. My baby HATED it, and we ended up springing for a fancy Peg Perego convertible in the hopes that it would help with her screams. Slight improvement. This regret has little to do with the Chicco or Peg carseats and more with my own regret of attempting to transport my child in a vehicle.
Biggest regret that was the fault of the actual product? Aveeno lavender baby wash. I thought I’d be super mom and get her something all natural for bathtime. But it smells too much like sweet rotting compost. I’m going back to Johnson & Johnson’s….
I have so many regrets, I’m not going to remember them all, but I’ll give you some highlights.
1. Moby wrap. My son was a MOM-MUST-HOLD-AT-ALL-TIMES baby, so I got a Moby on a friend’s recommendation. Unfortunately he was also a NURSE-AT-ALL-TIMES baby, and I would no sooner get the thing tied and my son squished into it than I would have to take it all apart to feed him. I once tried feeding him while he was in it; that worked until he spit up all over it. Guess how long it takes to wash and dry 20 feet of fabric.
2. Anything from VTech. All kids’ toys come with annoying voice tracks, but I think VTech goes out of its way to draft the most irritating scripts and to contract the most horrible voice actors available. I can listen to Fisher Price toys all day long, LeapFrog toys maybe half a day, but VTech makes me want to throw things within 5 minutes.
3. The big stroller. We started with a Snap-n-Go, but I later got a Graco stroller for $80ish on Amazon because my son was sitting up now and wanted to see everything. It even had a little tray in front where I could put snacks and a water bottle for him. He hated it. He spent every walk whining and crying to get out (so I was holding a 22lb 6mo AND pushing the stroller home), he nearly choked on a snack because I couldn’t see him, and he was never comfortable in the seat. The stroller itself was fine; my kid just hated it (see above about wanting to be held all the time). Should have stuck him in a carrier until he was ready for the umbrella stroller (which he likes just fine).
4. The tub. We got a Fisher Price whale tub because I thought it was the cutest thing EVAR. Unfortunately, my son hated baths until he was about 10 months old. I would have done better giving him sponge baths on the splat mat.
5. The splat mat. Just get a tarp and save yourself $20.
Biggest Non-Regret(s):
1. Chicco Smart Support Backpack. We’re lucky enough to have found a great daycare about a 30 minute walk from our house through some pretty woods . On nice days, we liked to bring our son home in the backpack, and he would get so excited to see us walk up with it. Short hikes with him also became plausible. He finally outgrew it this year, but it was worth every cent.
2. Sophie. Pre-baby, I balked at Sophie. $20 for a forking teether, are you kidding me?! But a friend of mine had one and my son was obsessed with it. Considering how much I dropped on other “this will solve everything” wastes of space and what fresh hell teething was for us, I wish I’d just gotten the damn giraffe. I did pick it up at a consignment sale last fall, planning to tuck it away until Thing 2 came along, but my son found it and will not let it go. Did I mention he’s 2.5yo?
I can easily go on, but at this point you’ve all gotten bored and given up anyway, so I’ll spare you.
My baby is 9 weeks old so we haven’t tried everything yet. . .
Regrets:
Medela standard bottle nipples
Fun, unique baby socks
Bibs – at this point my baby doesn’t spit up so we never use them
Medela pumping bra – it broke instantly and wasn’t comfortable
Bouncer – my baby isn’t a fan
We couldn’t live without:
Medela calma nipple – it’s pricey but doesn’t mess up bf
Moby and britex carrier (small regret is the seat extender for the britex is sold separately)
Pack n play
Glider
Boppy
Mam pacifiers
Whoosit
Baby gym from ikea – best part is was only 20 dollars
Mirror from sassy
My biggest regret was buying a travel swing. My daughter used it twice and screamed the entire time. I then got a hand me down full swing and she LOVED it!
Before my daughter was born, I bought 4 or 5 of those Swaddleme blankets in cute patterns and colors. My daughter hated to be swaddled and cried like she was being tortured every time I tried to put her in one. I ended up giving them to a friend who was expecting. So disappointing.
Oh, so many product regrets…
The $300 breast pump that I used for a week before we realized she could only tolerate soy-based formula
The bottle warmer I used for 2 days before I got lazy and just started using the microwave
The Baby Bjorn that we “stored” under her crib and proceeded to never use.
Any cutesy newborn outfits. They are way too expensive and worn for too short of a time. Plus, it’s so much easier to put a newborn in onesies and stretchy pants.
No real regrets, yet. I was the director of a preschool/child care center for 6 years before having my first, so I was pretty savvy on the necessary and not-so. However, my first didn’t like the swing or the bouncy seat… if the Newbie also doesn’t like them, they’re going away!
Most expensive regret. 1. the Mamaroo- loved the concept, my baby did not. Never used the iPod feature. Didn’t really use all those bizarre setting, either 🙁 I think I caught my dog sleeping in it once…
Then they almost hooked me in with the Origami (40lb) stroller. Luckily I was able to return it.
Most expensive regret for me is her crib – she is 2 1/2 and has spent no more than 4 hours in it in total! As as tiny baby she slept in my arms or her swing and as a toddler we share a double bed in her room. Going to try very hard to not make that mistake again!
I’m expecting my first baby, so I don’t have any baby product regret yet, but I guess my regret would be not getting pregnant sooner? haha Thanks for the opportunity.

I can’t think of anything I regret at this Moment. I was pretty conservative with our purchases. I guess the nap nanny, as neither of my twins really needed it, but was also glad to have had it because it got recalled and I was able to get money for it! I do regret buying a ton of bottles to try out when my boys wouldn’t take a bottle! Also regret stocking up on binkies, my boys decided they didn’t like them a about 4-5 months!
Since I’m currently waiting on my first, I really don’t know what I regret yet. But I do find WeeSpring very helpful in deciding which “must have” items are actually as good as they claim.
Spent way too much money on adorable matching outfits and what did my may 2012 baby live in? Onesies and sweat pants… So many khakis, sweater vests and button down shirt that were never worn
With #2 we got a graco duoglider stroller. I wish we had gone with the sit n stand instead. The 2 year old refuses to stay in it.
Biggest regret: that damn crib! It was big, bulky, and the best part is that we never even used it! It was $225 for the crib, $100 for the mattress, and took up so much space. We live in a small two bedroom condo in the San Francisco Bay Area so as you can imagine, space is very limited. We converted it to a toddler bed and put a lot of her favorite stuffed animals in it, hoping that she would sleep in it but she wouldn’t have it. She preferred the queen size bed in the room (who can blame her?). So we took it apart to free up some space in our daughter’s room. Luckily my cousin and his wife are expecting and we had a friend who was driving from SF to LA so he brought the crib down to LA and gave it to my cousin. Now it’s their problem! LOL. If and when we have another, I’m not getting a crib until we need it and if we decide to, I’ll just go get one at IKEA – it’s not ginormous and so much more affordable. Grrrr…
My biggest regret WAS stroller #2 – a Fisher Price convertible buggy/stroller. Great concept, and my daughter loved it, but the thing is wider than a Mack truck! However, my Gram liked to take Ella for walks in an old buggy from when I was little. It’s cute, vintage-cool, and full of dryrot. So, stroller #2 has become much less of a regret! Did I mention I’m on to stroller #3 now?
My biggest regret is my jj cole diaper bag and all the matching crap. The thing wouldn’t stand up and fell over slipping out every ALL.THE.TIME
Awww, like a few of the other posters, I’m pregnant with my first baby, so I can’t even qualify for this contest (which has a prize that sounds SUPER GREAT for a first-time mom!! Thanks for nothing, Ilana! ;-P )
However, this post, and the suggestion to check out that website, is pure gold to me right now, as I’m currently doing the baby registry thing. So, I do thank you for that! 🙂
The pack and play as a crib. Just not what we needed, we found a mini crib that’s much better looking next to our bed ( our bed that she sleeps in with us ) 🙂
The crib. We never used it – it just became a giant storage bin. The cat slept in it more than our son. 🙂
definitely the baby spa bathtub with the spray attachment. it takes 1,000 batteries and is ridiculous. used zero times. also all the super cute colorful socks I thought I would love. also used zero times ( baby girl is 8 months old and has only ever worn the regular gerber white socks).
I regret the overpriced cadillac pack n play. The kid didn’t care it vibrated, lit up, sang to him…and it didn’t have a go the f to sleep button.
Biggest regret has been the pack n play. Baby couldn’t sleep in it due to acid reflux so it’s been used only once.
Biggest regret would be the pack and play, it was way too expensive and it hardly gets used.
the Moby wrap – very hot during summer months and pretty much useless after 3 months. I can’t even give it away at this point because no one wants it!
Oh and I have to add- all the new clothes. . . . .that he grew out of in a month.
Biggest regrets:
1. As a city dweller – the Bugaboo Cameleon! Rarely use it because it is impossible to take on a bus or subway and who knows when you’re out walking if you ever need to get back home faster.
2. So many clothes! No human needs that many clothes but they are too cute to resist. No matter how many pacifiers I try we just don’t have kids that use them.
Best purchases:
1. Ergo carrier, hands down. Unlike most people I loved the Bjorn for the first few months for my first born. My second was preemie and was too small for even the Bjorn for awhile. Did the Moby, then Bjorn, now Ergo.
2. Dr Brown’s glass bottles.
3. Halo Sleep sacks, several so there’s always a clean one.
4. Earth’s Best diapers (no leaks, blowouts, etc)
5. An apt with easy laundry access. Couldn’t imagine the laundromat/infant juggle.
The gorgeous but expensive Moses basket. My cats sleep in it.
The moby wrap. My daughter is 6 weeks and hates it. screams every time. I really need to get another carrier because she makes it difficult to get things done around the house.
NEVER REGRET A BIB!! 🙂
at some point your baby will be a drooling mess when teeth start coming in and you will be praising every grandma, friend and neighbor that sent you one! My kid soaked through at least 4 a day. no lie!
Also when they start eating with utensils you’ll wish for them back.
Ah so many regrets for one little kid! The biggest regret has to be the crib that he literally spent a total of 24 hours in it collectively. Breastfeeding was a lot easier when I was able to stay in bed when he wanted to eat. Unfortunately, this co-sleeping awesomeness has backfired on me in a major way, and I am now sleeping with my two year old, as opposed to my husband. (This only stinks sometimes.)
My other regret was the infamous Sophie! I had myself convinced that if I did not buy my son one, he would end up living on the streets addicted to drugs by the time he was ten. Sophie equals love. Yeah, he was not a fan, he did not love her the way he was supposed to, and I learned another painful parenting lesson: kids do not care how much things cost, they would rather play with your keys and the remote.
I also regret the Chicco pack and play- we use it all the time, but not really for packing or playing, just sleeping. It’s soooo heavy to take on the road! I wish I researched a more lightweight one.
The Bjorn. Why oh why did we get the Bjorn??? Should have just started with the Ergo, even my husband could use that one, him trying the Bjorn was just silly.
We’ve definitely put the Bugaboo in the pack of our SUV fully assembled because we weren’t sure how to collapse.
This is the best bathtub idea we’ve ever seen:
https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/577286_517257518316877_132972411_n.png
Been there!! Our swing was used exactly twice.
Lindsey, this is hilarious… I hope you’ve added it as a comment on weeSpring!

We called our Bugaboo bassinet our “very expensive shopping cart” — anytime I tried to take the baby out in it, I wound up using the baby carrier because he was wailing so much, and wheeling my groceries around in the Bugaboo.
We swaddled in them until 6 months! And joked we would swaddle until he was a teenager…
“Wait and see” is always terrific advice…
Thanks for your comments, Rebecca — would love to have more of them on weeSpring!
I hope you shared on weeSpring!
We have the Bjorn but hear great things about phil+ted’s…

Such a great point — I hope you shared on weeSpring!
Did you share on weeSpring, Charlee?
A friend told me that to use the bucket tub, you hold one hand under the baby’s bum, another under the baby’s chin, and then you use your third arm to wash the baby.
Awesome advice, Kris… I hope you’re rating on the site!
Brilliant comment on compost — hope you’ve shared on weeSpring!
Sarah — not bored at all! These are hilarious. You should be one of our featured parents… email me at ally@weespring.com!
Love! Have you added yours to the site?
Andrea, have you shared on weeSpring?
Our cat liked the Mamaroo… baby definitely didn’t.
(Please add to weeSpring! This is really funny…)
Nicole-Lynn, you can use the site to keep track of the things you want! And you should invite your friends to share their loves and regrets.
So glad to hear that, Rachel!!!
Good advice for other moms! (Please share on weeSpring!)
Awesome, Ellyn… thanks!
We’re going to do a “Want it to win it!” contest again soon… you should use the site to list all your wants!

So funny. Why doesn’t everything have that button?
– ally@weespring
These are awesome… did you add them to weeSpring?
We hear this all the time!
Did you know more Sophies were sold in France last year than babies were born (in France)?
Ubiquitous!
(Please add your reviews to weeSpring!)
If we’d built weeSpring earlier, you might have started with the Ergo! 🙂
http://www.weespring.com/category/go/Carriers/
i actually dont have one yet everything ive bought ive really enjoyed fyi tho im the last of my friends to become a parent and took advice before shopping lol (:
The wipes warmer! That thing was stupid.
The bassinet accessory for our Britax stroller… The baby hated being all loose and flailing while on the go.
Loves:
I could not live without the Maclaren Techno XT. Living in the city necessitated a small, compact stroller but one that would last from infant to toddler. This one lays flat and can accommodate a newborn: I am still using it for my second who is now 2.5 (and occasionally a cranky 4.5 year old), so it is super sturdy!
JJ Cole Bundle me was fabulous for my October and January babies, and can work in an infant seat or in our stroller. Blankets never fell off the baby, and they were protected from the hell that is NE winters.
Baby Faces board book: both kids were enthralled!
Baby Signing Time videos: helped keep the kids entertained and we still use sign language when we need to be quiet (baby’s sleeping, we are in church, hubs and I don’t want other adults to know we are insulting them, etc!)
DISLIKES:
Dr. Brown’s bottles. SO. MANY. TINY. PIECES. TO. CLEAN.
Dresses for infants, they just ride up to their armpits, and when they start crawling their knees catch on the material which results in face-plants and crying. Like we need more crying from a baby?!
My guy is only 5 weeks old… and I haven’t purchased anything that I regret, however I regret some things on my registry that were purchased for me. Like the baby bath tub. We used it once and have been bathing with the dude ever since. Saves so much time and mess for real.
Biggest baby product regret would have to be… the bottle holder for the dishwasher… Didn’t hold my bottles at all even though it said “holds all bottle types”. I am sure there are more, but that is the first one that comes to mind
I regretted buying that beautiful bedding with that adorable puffy quilt I was sure the child would hold on to forever and give totheir own child one day…bull butter! It’s a suffocation hazzard first, second, the ties on the bedding didn’t fit on the convertibe crib. Of course I regretted it so much, I bought a much more expensive, more adorable set for my 2nd daughter… I also regretted that cheap brest pump. My husband could have done a better job of extracting milk. And lastly, I regretted Sophie. Not because my girls didn’t like her, but because they friggin did, and they were smart enough to figure out that I hated her, so they REALLY loved her. Heck, they are 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and still use her against me…which reminds me, I need to go make her disappear…I loved the Medela breast pump my mother in law brought me, she’s a labor and delivery nurse and knew better! I also loved the formula I used periodically when I was running low on fresh squeezed…Enfamil…and mattress protectors, I just used the Babies r Us brand and they sure saved the crib mattress and the full size mattress now that we have converted the cribs to beds. Lastly, the bibs from callie and allie designs…the tidy tot! A long sleeve bib with a long front that covers the pants or skirtsor whatever you have on the kids. Those bibs with the pocket to catch food, yeah right. My 2 girls would still get messy and then want to strip naked, regardless of being in public, because they were dirty, then refused to wear any clothes that remained stained! Worth the 12.00 bucks!
My biggest regret so far is not figuring out the various carriers and slings earlier!
Bumbo Baby Seat: I first saw it at a picnic where a mom sat her docile, contented child in it and fed him his lunch, and thought, “How convenient is that? And it’s so cute!!! I wish I’d had that when David was little.”
Needless to say, I did not have a docile 2nd child… she would smile well enough the first few times I put her in, and then she would lean back (or forward, or to the side, whatever it took) until it tipped over and she could roll out. I thought putting her on the floor would help. Ha!
After about 5 times I figured it out for the waste of time it was for me personally… registering for it and THEN trying to make it work. (I’m glad I never left her in it on a table alone!)
Would LOVE either of those prizes. My biggest regret…. probably the bumbo seat – none of my kids are a big fan.
My biggest regret was the Moby wrap. After several attempts to get my “healthy-sized” new born into it. I felt like I was at a failing tryout for Cirque du Soleil. I wound up giving up and buying an Ergo Baby.
I also have regretted the 4 humidifiers (Crane x2, Vicks x2) I have gone through in the last 5 months. One spit water, one didn’t humidify, and two grew mold in places I couldn’t reach to clean. With my luck, I’m scared to spend more than $50 on one!
Biggest regret was my double stroller. The kids hated being in it and if was so bulky to close it barely fit in my van.
