Sometimes children are so much wiser than adults. Six-year-old Tiana, whose parents are going through a divorce, gave her mom a lecture on why it’s important for her to stop fighting with her dad because “if I can be nice, I think all of us can be nice too.”

She also teaches her mom how to “settle her mean heights down” which I think is an important lesson for all of us.

As a child whose parents divorced when I was ten, I cannot even imagine summoning up the maturity to ask my parents to just get along. I was too busy fantasizing about them getting back together. (It never happened.)

Tiana, I think you are going to come out of this more than okay.
