My friend, Michelle, recently went to Cambodia, where she learned that one of the main problems with the Cambodian education system is that the schools are often located too far for the kids to walk and most are without an alternative means of transportation.
Based on this simple fact, her and her boyfriend came up with the idea for "2 Wheels 4 School". They are selling prints of their photographs from the trip for $30 a piece and are going to put every cent towards buying bicycles for Cambodian children.
Above is the photo I just purchased. And they've got lots of others. But I think it's a worthy cause even wthout the potential for new wall candy.
Please, click on this link, read their mission statement and if you feel compelled, purchase a photo.
hey ilana! my brother started a charity in cambodia a few years ago (a school and girls home). i know transportation is a huge issue for his students as well – wondering if we can connect your friend with my brother. he has tons of amazing photos of his students that i’m sure he’d share to support the cause…
please have your friend check out the website!
