I've seen many YouTube videos showing random things that make babies stop crying. Hair dryers, running faucets, vacuum cleaners, etc. Mazzy used to stop crying when I sang "You Are My Sunshine" but that stage is long over.
Plus "You Are My Sunshine" makes Mazzy seem incredibly lame when you consider the baby below. This kid stops crying when she hears the vocal stylings of one Notorious B.I.G. singing— what else? "Hypnotize".
That's right. Biggie Smalls can quiet the kiddies from the grave.
I love the look on her face.
That both hilarious and adorable at the same time. It’s got to be the rhythm of the beat – it’s soothing.
Vivian still stops crying when I sing “You Are My Sunshine.” In fact, she stops crying and starts demanding, “More sunshine!” Over and over and over again. Which then makes me want to cry.
OMG. THAT is hilarious! Go Biggie baby,go!
I believe the song is “Hypnotize”. “…Call me Big Poppa” could never assuage a crying infant. Duh.
Corrected. Works even better that way.
If only singing still worked on Mazzy. Now it seems like it is only the power having her cup of milk, her cup of water and a new addition, a watered down cup of juice that will keep the tears at bay. Add those to her BOO and I have no idea how she manages to carry them all at once.
Love it. If I try singing, my 22-month-old tells me “NOOoo!”.
I can’t help but take it a little personally…
My oldest would only ever stop crying if I put the Dutch music channel on our tv on really loud (we lived in Holland at the time).
But my shame was cemented when the only thing that would soothe my youngest when he was in hospital recovering from surgery was having the TV on – any channel, so long as it was on. The parents of the little girl we roomed with were not impressed by our parenting skills.
