I say it every year around this time, but I'll say it again. This blog wouldn't exist without my husband. And not just because he helped create the fodder this blog revolves around (aka our two daughters), but also because he trusts me to tell our story, he has a good sense of humor and he has yet to throw my camera in the river.
Mike has been reading my blog daily for almost three years now, but it still brings me such a thrill to catch him in the act. I know sometimes I annoy him with my constant photo documentation, but I also know he's happy to have this growing record of our time as parents.
Yesterday, I caught Mike watching "Shit Toddlers Say" which I hadn't seen in over a year. He said he's been watching it a lot lately because it's so crazy that the little person in that video doesn't exist anymore.
Half the reason for this blog is for us to reflect back on when the kids are older, but it's kinda scary to think that's already happening.
In honor of Father's Day and another year gone by, here are some of my favorite photos of Mr. Mommy Shorts— all together in a place I know my husband will see them.
1. A typical morning…
2. My daily view…
3. Is there anything sexier than a man willingly wearing a princess crown?
4. I call this one "Dads with Embarrassing Bags".
5. Looking very sophisticated for a dad with a three-year-old…
6. Mike doesn't smile for my pictures often, so I'm glad he gave it up for the birth of Harlow…
7. "Again! Again! Again! Again! Again! Again! Again!"
8. "It's 10:23pm. How awake is YOUR baby?"
9. Another day, another birthday party…
10. "It's the ciiiiirrrrrrcle of liiife!!!"…
11. How to give a thumbs up…
12. Often Mike will go away for work and come home late at night after Mazzy goes to bed. This is what happens when she sees him in the morning…
13. Speaking of mornings, this is an old shot of Mike and Mazzy sharing a blueberry smoothie. This still happens every single day…
14. Here's another old one of Mike and Mazzy. Probably the last moment of peace I've had in 3+ years…
15. Did you know iPads come with balcony seats?
16. All Olympic divers start somewhere…
17. Mike playing with his Mini-Me…
18. Another of Mike and Mazzy in the morning…
19. One of my favorites of Mike and Harlow…
20. Mazzy riding her favorite form of transportation. I hope she's too big for it by the time Harlow wants a seat.
21. And lastly, one of just the two of us. Because hopefully we'll have a couple of memories that don't involve the kids.
Happy Father's Day, Mr. Mommy Shorts! Sorry my phone is seemingly attached to my hand.
Love you,
The Mrs.
ps: Here's a bonus photo from this morning…
wonderful posting!
I was going to say which is my fave but really it is too hard! great photos by that hand attached to the phone all the time!
The picture from this morning is my favorite! So cute. Happy Father’s Day, Mike.
Beautiful photos! You have answered it before but I don’t remember, what photo editing app do you use? They are stunning photos.
He is like the second coolest dad we know!
Those are wonderful!! I remind my husband often that HE is the one who sets the standard for all the other men our daughter will have come into her life. If he doesn’t give her the love and attention she needs, she will find it elsewhere so he needs to carve out special daddy/daughter time (It comes very easy for him with our 2 boys to build and work on cars but dolllies and musicals are TOTALLY FOREIGN!)Congrats on a having a great daddy for your gorgeous little girls!!
Love to see these great memories chronicled by your great photos.
Happy Father’s Day to Mr. Mommy Shorts!
I have to agree that Harlow is the mini-Mr. MommyShorts. It’s amazing how Mazzy looks like you and Harlow like her dad, especially the hair!
I really wish my wife suffered a little more from iphoneHanditis. There are so few pictures of me with the kids even though I am constantly interacting with them.
Beautiful post, I am sure mike appreciates it.
LOVE this series of photos! I hate that I’m on instagram as much to see them “real time” but I love that you share them from time to time here! Love the sweet moments between dad and daughter — the crown, the upside “more more more” (Mazzy’s face is priceless!), thumbs up, and mornings with Harlow. My favorite one of all time is still the one with Mike piled underneath a mountain of toys. You guys are such a sweet and photogenic family! Hope he had a great Father’s day!
