When I was young, childless and single, a married friend of mine used to do something truly awesome on Valentine’s Day. She would throw a dinner party.
There would be couples there and single people there, but the purpose was not to pair up the singletons, the point was just so all her friends (especially the singletons) had something to do on Valentine’s Day.
Those dinner parties continued after I met Mike and slowly died out after we all had kids, although I’d like to bring them back. I certainly don’t want to eat out alone with Mike on Valentine’s Day.
I mean, nothing against Mike, but eating out on Valentine’s Day is just a horrible horrible idea. I don’t know if V-Day is like this in other cities, but in NYC, it’s really just a short cut to a crappy overpriced prix fixe dinner at a restaurant you probably would have enjoyed otherwise.
Nobody likes to go out in New York City on Valentine’s Day.
Little Miss Party understands this, which is why they are offering a Valentine’s Day Party in a Box with enough place settings and decor for a fabulously pink party of twelve.
Those twelve people can be family, friends, couples, singles, adults, kids or a combination of anyone you wish. Obviously.
Since I love the idea of a Valentine’s Day dinner party at home (especially a festive looking one)…
I am giving away one Little Miss Valentine’s Day Party in a Box to one Mommy Shorts subscriber.
That’s right. You don’t have to comment (although that would be nice) or follow me on facebook or tweet a link or anything.
Just subscribe to the Mommy Shorts daily or weekly email and I will select one winner randomly from my email database. If you already subscribe, you don’t have to do a thing.
Here’s a look at what the box entails:
Throw it all together (using Little Miss Party’s “party blueprints”) and it looks like this:
If you’d like to order a box to ensure your Valentine’s Day dinner party dreams come true, you can place an order with Little Miss Party by February 10th to guarantee the box is delivered on time.
Little Miss Party also sells birthday parties in a box, New Year’s Eve parties in a box and a Little Miss Shower in a box is coming soon!
Winner will be announced on Friday, February 6th.
Good luck!

My 4 kids would swoon if I was able to put together such a great looking shindig 🙂
Even in pictures it looks like so much fun! My two boys would be pumped to have that at home!
I’ve been gathering all of my holiday décor when they go on sale and throughout the year at thrift stores so next year I can throw themed parties! I’m such a nerd. This set is adorbs!
The only thing that sucks more than going out to dinner with my husband for Valentine’s Day, is explaining to my kids why we can never go out for dinner on my birthday – as my birthday is Valentine’s Day!!! (Not because I need to spend Valentine’s with only my husband – because of the aforementioned cost of going out to dinner at all on that day not to mention how hard it is to get a reservation at a decent restaurant!!). Thank goodness steak, baked potato and cake taste JUST as good when served on my dining room table 🙂
The baloons are so cute!! Great job little miss party & mommy shorts!
so awesome!
Considering its my man’s birthday just a couple days before Valentine’s Day….and my son LOVES a party…this is a WIN-WIN!!!
Very cool!! This would be awesome!
Oh pick me! a dinner party is a GREAT idea!
Yeah! my three little girls would love this!
I would love to win! 🙂

Thats actually a really cute idea! I have never gone out on valentines day so this year is a first for me. But we may just end up dropping the kids at the sitter and going home for a little quiet time, video games, and wine. (Hey to each her own) 😉
OMG!! How awesome!! Hope I win! 🙂 I would love to throw a themed party, but I’m always too broke 🙁
I am in love – this is an awesome idea!
