Just like Picasso went through his Blue Period, Harlow has recently gone through a Drake Period. More specifically, my four-year-old became suddenly obsessed with the song Hotline Bling and made me play it over and over.
The first few times she danced to the song, she told me no cameras were allowed. I complied. I thought she was taking a stand against me filming her. Turns out, that was not the case. She just needed time to perfect her choreography. Apparently, she has developed new standards about what she wants out there to represent her work.
Finally, one day, she told me she was ready. “Play Hotline Bling and video me, Mommy.”
“Okay, Harlow. Will do.”
FYI, my favorite sequence starts at 1:34 with the highlight move at 1:49.

Here’s your daily reminder to vote for me in the Shorty Awards! You can vote here once a day! Drake is another nominee so in my Shorty Awards fantasy, we meet at the ceremony and I get to play him this video. Then I’ll force him to watch it over and over and over again. Every night. Until the end of eternity. And then if he tries to put on another song, I’ll go, “NO!!! PLAY HOTLINE BLING!!!!” until he really regrets ever writing that song in the first place.
Get it gurrrl!
She is awesome. I’m waiting for the day when she busts out some breakdancing–I expect flares and headspins!
Go Harlow!
?????? Werk!
