GIVEAWAY: 5 Boxes of Back to School Clothes from Kidbox
A few weeks ago, Mazzy, Harlow and I were invited to a party thrown by Kidbox, a seasonal subscription box for kids’ clothes. The party was to celebrate their 2nd birthday and also to bring together their “Kid Board of Directors,” a group of kids selected because they share Kidbox’s philanthropic mission of helping others and giving back.
In fact, many of them have already started non-profits of their own. Sidney Keys III (age 12) started Books N Bros Reading Club, which facilitates meet ups of 7-12yo boys to encourage literacy and bring awareness to positive African American literature. Ella R. Tyron (age 8) has made it her mission to supply children’s hospitals with enough crayons for every child patient. And you might know Naomi Wadler (age 11) from her powerful speech at the March for Our Lives Rally in DC about the disproportionate number of black women and girls who are victims of gun violence.
Mazzy became fast friends with child actress and Kidbox Ambassador, Brooklynn Prince (age 8), who you might know from her award winning role in The Florida Project. She is an advocate for the Community Hope Center, a non-profit which assists low-income, poverty level families and individuals living in and around Osceola County, Florida.
It was really an honor to have Mazzy and Harlow in a room with all of these inspiring young kids, so they could see firsthand that you don’t have to be an adult to make a difference. We also learned that Kidbox has a mission of their own called “One Box at a Time.” Their goal is to help clothe as many children in need as possible by donating one item of clothing for every box sold.
I am always looking for brands that put “doing good” at the forefront of their business practices, so I am so excited to announce that I will be partnering with Kidbox this year.
To kick off our partnership, Mazzy and Harlow got to attend a session about bullying where they learned that positive messages can impact behavior and that clothing can help spread those messages.
All the kids in the room got the opportunity to design t-shirts with slogans centered around anti-bullying. They talked through their designs with Kidbox’s Design Director and picked color swatches for them to be made into real shirts that they can wear.

After they completed their designs, Mazzy and Harlow were whisked away into another room where they got to unbox a summer box of Kidbox clothing. Unlike some of the other kid clothing subscription services, Kidbox contains both their own brand and a variety of other high quality brands. Mazzy and Harlow’s boxes contained clothing from brands like 7 for All Mankind, Splendid, Butter and more.
And I have to say, they really NAILED both Mazzy and Harlow’s style.
They’ve been wearing their summer clothes for the past few weeks and just got their Back-to-School boxes.
Harlow was so in love with her back-to-school items, that she got mad at the term “back-to-school” and demanded to wear her new off the shoulder shirt IMMEDIATELY. You can watch her her hilarious HOT TAKE on the term “back-to-school clothes” here.
Mazzy does not love dresses but she LOVES her new “The Future is Female” t-shirt dress and has been wearing it every single day when she gets home from camp.
There also was a plethora of unicorn themed attire to make everyone happy.
In each Kidbox (which is designed specifically so that kids can color the boxes), there are also fun alphabet stickers, a few fun gifts (like a pencil case and a water bottle in the back to school box) and a newspaper called “The Scribble.” Each Scribble has a theme, with helpful articles for both parents and kids, along with a spotlight on a charities they are supporting this season.
For back to school, anyone who keeps their full box gets to choose between donating to to a charity supporting homeless families, victims of domestic abuse, or Puerto Rico relief. Kidbox’s belief is that it’s never too early to start talking to your kids about ways to give back, so they created a really easy way to involve your kids and help them figure out what causes are most important to them. In addition to helping these charities, by the end of this summer, the company is on course to donate $8.5 million in new clothing, having clothed one million kids.
There are five seasonal boxes: spring, summer, back-to-school, fall and winter. You can sign your kids up, have them take their “style quiz,” and order your back to school box here!

Everytown for Gun Safety. Because really? Seriously people, kids, adults, babies are still being shot every day. Its beyond reason that gun rights orgs have so much power that even BASIC gun control laws and regulations don’t get enacted.
march of dimes. i love the idea of this box though!
I love donating to local charities and causes because I feel like if everyone worked on making an impact on their local community they can see the difference their donation makes and hopefully be more involved in making a difference on a bigger scale. In my community, there’s a center called Willow Domestic Violece Center. They take care of women and children who were/are victims of domestic violence, by providing shelter, food, diapers, hygiene products, as well as medical and therapy services.
Little Essentials! They provide families living in poverty with children supplies (clothing, diapers, furniture, tous, etc..) and parenting education.

I love Make a Wish. They are really doing a great job.
our local children’s hospital where my children were born and spent 4 days in the intermediate care nursery (BC Children’s Hospital) is one of my favourites as well as Black Dog Rescue Society of BC who bring dogs from high kill shelters in the US to Canada for a second chance (we adopted our pup from them last December)
I enjoy working with out local grass roots program to help teach kids about depression, billing, and sucicide prevention in schools. They also provide low or no cost health services to those who need it. I think it’s amazing to bring that education into schools and to help give young people the knowledge that this is a normal part of life now.
My favorite place to donate is NPR. I do it because everyone should have access to free unbiased fact-checked news. Another place I’ve donated in Planned Parenthood, to provide real options to women for health care, reproductive care and education.
