I almost didn’t do a Mother’s Day Guide this year. Mainly because, in my head, it’s still several months away and it wasn’t until this morning when I was like, OH SHIT. It’s THIS SUNDAY. I forgot to do a gift guide! Then I realized I put together an awes0me gift guide last year that nobody used because we were all unsure if it was cool to order things that weren’t essential. Well, if there is one thing I have learned over the past year, it’s that SELF CARE IS ESSENTIAL. I mean, “self care” was probably one of the top five terms used on Instagram last year. I bet there is a mom in Utah currently arranging it on a letter board to take a carefully curated photo.
Anyhoo, I decided to take last year’s gift guide and repost it. We worked really hard on that thing! But just to keep things current, I added a few of my favorite items in 2021 to the top. You’ll find a few exclusive Mommy Shorts promo codes too. And if you like the Think Royln bags (pictured above and below), I’m currently doing a giveaway for a $300 gift card on @mommyshorts Instagram.
If it’s too late to share this guide with someone who might get you a Mother’s Day gift, I suggest getting something for yourself!
TOP FIVE FAVORITE ITEMS THIS YEAR
1) Think Royln Bags
Think Royln bags are my new favorite bags. They’ve got weekend bags, work bags, going out bags, just my phone bags, all designed for busy women on the go. Especially since I am working from home now and no longer have to tote around my laptop. So many more options when you can carry something smaller! I also love how all their bags (big and small) come with multiple strap options- removable handles, chains and straps. Personally, I’m a sucker for a crossbody strap, but the chain makes me feel very fancy!

2) Joah Love masks
My whole family has been wearing Joah Love masks pretty much exclusively since September. The kid size 2-6 fits Harlow’s tiny face perfectly. Mazzy and I both wear the small/medium size and Mike wears the medium/large. I am partial to the animal prints with the infinity straps. They are all reversible, super soft, comfy, and they sell masks with filters too.

3) I Love NYC collection from Piccoliny
In addition to toys and books, Piccoliny sells a fun line of NYC themed clothing that are very popular on Instagram. The clothes comes in both adult and kid sizes and uses NYC food iconography like hot dogs, pretzels, bagels and pizza. I wore the hot pink hotdog pretzel hat all winter long. They’ve even got mother daughter matching shirts for Mother’s Day.

4. Cricut Joy
I can get a little intimidated by crafting projects, especially ones that involve machinery, but I LOVE my new Cricut Joy, which makes it super easy to create lettered iron-ons on clothing and vinyl stickers for items around the house. You can make something pretty awesome in about 15 minutes. (Check out the hoodie I made for Frankie.) Plus the Cricut Joy is smaller and less expensive than the original machine, so it feels like less of a commitment if you decide you are not a crafter after all. If you take the plunge, I highly recommend getting the Mini Easy Press too!
5. Cicapair from Dr. Jart
Lastly, I am in love with Cicapair Tigergrass Color Correcting treatment from Dr Jart. I saw a video about it on tiktok, became the victim of “influencing” and purchased it. I was not disappointed! It’s basically a base under your foundation that helps even out your complexion. I use it any time I put on make-up.
That’s it for the updates. Check out the rest of my list below!
